As Editor of StyleLujo.com and Menswear Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I’ve never been more enthused—or more convinced—that we’re standing at a critical inflection point in American menswear.
Kiton’s AW 2025 collection marks a shift toward purpose-driven style. There’s a noticeable return to sharper silhouettes and clean tailoring, which feels both intentional and timely. As conversations around success and presence evolve, there’s something to be said about how clothing—especially menswear—can reflect that. Kiton’s interpretation isn’t just about making a statement; it’s about reconnecting with formality in a way that still feels current and adaptable.
We’re witnessing a seismic shift, one I call the New American Sartorialism—a resurgence of classic tailoring reinterpreted for the modern alpha male. Gone are the chaotic post-pandemic silhouettes that swallowed intention in a sea of oversized ambiguity. Instead, fit, balance, and proportion—three pillars of intelligent menswear—have returned with urgency and elegance. Kiton doesn’t just respond to this moment; it leads it. Kiton’s Autumn-Winter 2025 collection signals the brand’s evolving presence in the American luxury space. Known for its Neapolitan roots and meticulous tailoring, Kiton is now navigating the preferences of the U.S. consumer with a modern sensibility—pairing classic suit-and-tie combinations with comfortable knit pullovers and relaxed layers. This blend of formal structure and refined ease reflects a broader shift in how American professionals approach style: less rigid, more nuanced, and driven by functionality without compromising sophistication. The collection feels attuned to that moment, offering wardrobe pieces that transition seamlessly between high-powered meetings and understated social settings.
There’s no denying it: the clever American man understands that self-presentation is inseparable from self-worth. Dressing well is no longer optional for those at the helm of high-stakes industries—it’s a performance of leadership. Kiton, the revered Neapolitan authority in sartorial refinement, has achieved the ultimate balance: uncompromising craftsmanship fused with modern-day comfort. Its AW 2025 collection presents precision-tailored jackets, luxuriously soft Sea Island cotton knitwear, and featherweight cashmere engineered for movement—garments designed for men who navigate the world with conviction, projecting presence through elegance rather than excess.

In a landscape where men’s fashion is evolving beyond aesthetic into expression, Kiton’s approach remains grounded in precision and purpose. With an emphasis on timeless silhouettes and elevated materials, AW 2025 serves as a study in how tradition can evolve without compromising integrity.
Exclusive Stylelujo.com Interview: Kiton’s Vision for 2026 and Beyond

Stylelujo.com is proud to present an exclusive conversation with Antonio De Matteis, CEO of Kiton, one of the world’s most revered luxury fashion houses. In this captivating interview conducted by fashion journalist Joseph DeAcetis, we explore how Kiton is redefining menswear for a new generation, blending timeless tailoring with forward-thinking innovation. From relaxed elegance and cutting-edge textile advancements to AI’s role in fashion and a renewed commitment to sustainability, Antonio De Matteis offers rare insights into the soul of a brand that continues to evolve while honoring its artisanal legacy.
Joseph DeAcetis: As a global benchmark for sartorial excellence, how would you articulate Kiton’s signature style within the context of today’s evolving luxury landscape—and what nuanced design developments are propelling the brand’s aesthetic into 2026, while preserving its legacy of timeless sophistication?
Antonio De Matteis: Kiton’s style is rooted in a thoughtful understanding of the evolving global aesthetic. In recent years—especially in the wake of the pandemic—we’ve observed a significant shift in the way modern men dress, with a growing focus on comfort. We’ve embraced this change by evolving our collections: silhouettes have become softer, volumes more generous, without ever compromising the elegance that defines us. Even in formalwear, this sensibility emerges through new proportions and refined fabrics. Today, Kiton embodies relaxed elegance—a harmonious blend of comfort and sophistication.
Joseph DeAcetis: Given Kiton’s longstanding mastery in textile artistry and chromatic sophistication, what specific palette directions and material innovations are driving the brand’s seasonal vision—and how do these developments reflect broader shifts in luxury aesthetics and tactile experiences?
Antonio De Matteis: Fabric research is part of Kiton’s DNA. Each season we introduce new fibers, new structures, and exclusive developments. For Spring-Summer 2026, we’ve chosen a vivid palette, expressed through cool, sophisticated tones: bold colors designed to be worn with discretion, harmonized in total looks or highlighted through thoughtful accents. Linen remains the key fiber for the season, reinterpreted with light, refined textures. We also showcase Sea Island Cotton for knitwear, and ultra-lightweight washed cashmere for outerwear. Additionally, we’ve created an exclusive palette of 7–8 tones, developed specifically for our most iconic fabrics—true results of continuous textile innovation.

Joseph DeAcetis: As political and cultural shifts continue to influence fashion worldwide, American menswear is undergoing a pivotal transformation, with “New Conservatism”—ushered in by President Donald J. Trump and his administration—leading a global resurgence of classic elegance and formality. How is Kiton responding to this shift, and what does the brand’s approach reveal about the future of timeless style in a politically influenced fashion landscape.
Antonio De Matteis: I don’t believe this trend is directly tied to Trump or to any one leader. It’s more a reflection of history itself: in uncertain times, people seek the reassurance of tradition. Classic elegance is one of those timeless certainties. We’re seeing a return to dressing well, with greater attention to formality and bearing.
Joseph DeAcetis: How are today’s men reshaping the concept of “dressing for success,” and in what ways does Kiton help them express that evolution through its sartorial philosophy?
Antonio De Matteis: Kiton has always offered its clients a distinctive yet understated style. Our clients don’t wear Kiton to be noticed—they wear it for the personal pleasure of dressing well, with quality and consistency. These are men who are already accomplished; they appreciate details, exceptional craftsmanship, and quiet elegance. In this sense, Kiton is a tool for authentic self-expression—luxury that speaks in a whisper, not a shout.

Joseph DeAcetis: Artificial intelligence is transforming industries. Has it impacted Kiton’s design process, production methods, or consumer experience in any meaningful way?
Antonio De Matteis: So far, we’ve used AI exclusively in the creation of advertising campaigns. It hasn’t yet influenced our creative or production processes, though we don’t rule that out in the future. We recognize its potential in helping respond quickly to new demands, but for us, the heart of the company remains human: the artisan’s hand, human sensitivity, and an obsession with detail.
Joseph DeAcetis: From your perspective, who embodies the contemporary Kiton client—and how does his discernment, lifestyle, and relationship to luxury distinguish him from the broader spectrum of high-end consumers?
Antonio De Matteis: He is a man who loves beauty and knows how to recognize true excellence. A collector. A connoisseur. He dresses for himself, not for show. He appreciates refined comfort, pays attention to details, and moves through life with quiet confidence and style.
Joseph DeAcetis: Tailoring is both art and science. In an era where sartorial excellence intersects with evolving market demands, how does Kiton preserve the integrity of its masterful craftsmanship—rooted in centuries-old tailoring traditions—while strategically positioning itself at the forefront of innovation in the global menswear industry?
Antonio De Matteis: Our secret lies in the Kiton Tailoring School, established 25 years ago. Thanks to this foundation, we’ve trained a new generation of young, talented artisans—capable of carrying on tradition with a modern perspective. This allows us to consistently deliver exceptional quality, both in Arzano and across our global boutiques. For us, craftsmanship and innovation go hand in hand—they are embedded in our DNA.
Joseph DeAcetis: With sustainability now a defining pillar of luxury rather than an optional ideal, how is Kiton redefining responsible fashion—balancing ecological integrity and ethical stewardship with its uncompromising commitment to artisanal excellence and enduring quality?
Antonio De Matteis: For Kiton, sustainability has always been a natural choice. Our garments are made to last a lifetime—and that alone is a powerful, tangible commitment. Our production process is entirely artisanal, relying on needle, thread, and scissors, with minimal environmental impact. The only emission from our facilities is steam from the boilers. Even in textile finishing, we prioritize eco-compatible techniques. Equally important is social sustainability: we invest in local talent, offer safe and inspiring work environments, and our average wage is among the highest in the industry. During the pandemic, protecting our people’s health was our top priority. Kiton is, first and foremost, a company built on people—not machines.

Joseph DeAcetis: As contemporary values, digital integration, and shifting cultural norms reshape professional identity, how does Kiton envision the evolution of the power suit—preserving its legacy of elegance while aligning with the expectations of a modern, tech-forward world?
Antonio De Matteis: It’s encouraging to see younger generations embracing the suit again—and in some cases, even the tie. It’s a beautiful sign of a renewed appreciation for elegance. Of course, they’re interpreting it in their own way, with softer lines and more relaxed volumes. But the suit remains—and will always be—the most elegant garment in a man’s wardrobe.
Joseph DeAcetis: As the world of men’s fashion enters a transformative era—shaped by shifting generational values, technological disruption, and an increasing demand for authenticity and sustainability—what most inspires your vision for Kiton’s next chapter? And in a broader sense, how do you foresee the luxury menswear industry evolving on a global scale, as it reconciles heritage craftsmanship with the dynamic expectations of a new, more discerning and interconnected clientele for future generations.
Antonio De Matteis: What excites me most is seeing the third generation already actively involved in the company. Today, six young people are contributing to Kiton’s growth: • Mariano and Walter De Matteis, my sons, are respectively leading the creative direction of KNT and managing European retail; • Martina Klain, daughter of Maria Giovanna Paone, heads the women’s division; • Adelaide Alfano, daughter of Raffaella Paone, is focused on U.S. retail; • Ulderico Klain, the youngest son of Maria Giovanna Paone, manages our accessories line; • Margherita Alfano, the youngest daughter of Raffaella Paone, works in our marketing department. They are our future—but also our present. With their passion and professionalism, Kiton is in excellent hands.
