In 2024, skin care trends will make a magnanimous switch as the industry accelerates to a new era. From artificial intelligence (AI) driven innovations to Gen-Alpha influencers, technology will accelerate how we choose and use beauty more than ever. We will see expanded use cases of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in aesthetics. One AI use case in aesthetics is in skin analysis and virtual consultations. AI can be used to analyze facial features and provide recommendations for aesthetic procedures. There are even new technologies and ways to harvest biological materials for one-of-a-kind injectables. What I find interesting is hybrid ingredients that target multiple skin concerns simultaneously are gaining popularity. Examples include tretinoin (for acne, pigmentation, and anti-aging), vitamin C (for pollution protection, skin tone evenness, and fine lines), and azelaic acid (for breakouts, exfoliation, and rosacea management. Combination therapy such as microneedling combined with radio frequency helps to tighten and firm loose skin, improving the appearance of fine lines, sagging skin, wrinkles, and much more.

Gen Z has an increased interest in skincare because this generation subset is more educated about ingredients. The go-to products for Gen Z are moisturizers, SPF, and serums.
