LA Fashion Week, promised an innovative blend of fashion, beauty, technology, and sustainability. Our editors at Style Lujo attended the shows and presentations and couldn’t help but notice how the designers embraced pushing boundaries with a mix of captivating events, on-trend parties, and interactive panels. For example, master classes and discussions on hot topics such as sustainability, technology, and social media marketing. And when I refer to setting the stage, I mean literally.
LAFW is a societal movement with a purpose—a testament to modern times and acceptance. The city boldly expressed a strong sense of inclusion upon viewing the dramatic bright lights and big city vibes. It was as though every collection moved to an LA marching beat of boundless creativity- setting the stage for the fashion industry’s future and humanity’s progression into the future. The event, endorsed by the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), positions Los Angeles as an emerging epicenter of fashion creativity and innovation.
The four-day Los Angeles Fashion Week presented by Art Hearts Fashion (as the company celebrated its tenth anniversary of putting on the most iconic, diverse, inclusive, and creative fashion shows in LA) it included dozens of epic runway shows. The week saw an action-packed lineup of designers, each one bringing a unique sensibility to the runway and groundbreaking presentations – including brands celebrated for their questionable designs that seem to challenge conservative style.
New offerings were the cornerstone that set the stage for LAFW as it has become a platform for emerging designers, allowing them to showcase their creative stories. The program was filled with variety, thus giving attendees an excellent opportunity to network and learn about new sustainable techniques and technological advancements. Innovative, sustainable, and eco-friendly fashion brands, including Love For Upcycling.
The production company has dedicated a series of runway shows to leading Mexican and LatinX designers to celebrate a decade of iconic Los Angeles Fashion Week shows. Globally recognized and emerging Latin designers Mister Triple X, Black Tape Project, Giannina Azar, Coral Castillo, and Walter Mendez.
“We’re excited to spotlight a variety of creative Latin and LA-based fashion designers at this year’s LAFW while bringing together the fashion industry’s top tastemakers, content creators, celebrities, fashion media, and influencers,” said Erik Rosete, founder and president of Art Hearts Fashion.
Several of Bravo TV’s successful Project Runway designers took part in this year’s Los Angeles Fashion Week, including celebrity fashion designer Michael Costello and Bravo TV’s Project Runway S19 Winner and Hulu’s STITCHED designer, Coral Castillo.
The fashion cognoscenti immersed themselves in a celebration of style, innovation, and American culture. One particular highlight was to see the return of Richie Rich, Creative director of Heatherette, launched a NEW 2000’s era collection at this year’s LAFW.
